Zamani Islands is the name of a resort in the Maldives that is to be home to the island nation's first superyacht marina.

Part of the eight islands, which extend over five kilometres in a natural lagoon and are 21 nautical miles from the main international airport, will be a 60,000 square metre marina. Other marinas in the country can accommodate mega yachts, but their facilities are not specifically designed for them.

Significant increase in superyacht visitors to the Maldives

In 2023, the Maldives saw a significant increase in superyacht visits, with 18 superyachts arriving in January alone, compared to just one two months earlier. The Indian Ocean island nation is 99 per cent water and one per cent land. The developer, Atoll Estates, is running an active coral translocation programme during construction and will continue with a coral propagation programme after completion. 70 hectares will be made available for this purpose. The resort will be 100 per cent powered by renewable energy and each residence will have a private berth in the marina. The harbour is scheduled to open in 2026.
