Germany's longest Baltic Sea fjord stretches over 42 kilometres from its entrance at Schleimünde to the old ducal city of Schleswig. The journey takes you through the gently undulating hills of Schleswig-Holstein, created by the last ice age. Nature and culture are closely intertwined here - even the Vikings founded their trading metropolis Haithabu in the protection of the Schlei. A unique area that is best discovered on your own keel. All important information is available here at a glance!
NAUTICAL INFORMATION
CITIES AND HARBOURS
Schleswig, with its cathedral and Viking Tower as landmarks visible from afar, not only offers the best supply options and services, but also a number of sights (see left side). There are also several marinas, such as the central City harbour or the Wiking marina below the Viking Tower (with viewing café and tower).
Kappeln lived from fishing for a long time and is now a nice regional centre of attraction for land and water tourists. First a roll with smoked eel, then a stroll through the town. You can either lie down in one of the pits of the City harbour north of the bridge (watch out when the current is rising!) or just south of the jetty of the Arniss Sailing Club ASC.
Maasholm (see photo) attracts visitors to its narrow peninsula with the cosy charm of a fishing village, with cobbled streets and the legendary "Maasholmer Currywurst" right next to the fully equipped Sports boat harbour.
