The Lindaunis marina is just a few minutes away from the bridge.
In our Baltic Sea Update 2025, we reported on the ongoing construction work on the temporary Deutsche Bahn bridge in Lindaunis. Now there is more information for skippers from the marina. With the reopening of the railway station and new catering facilities, the town is becoming even more attractive for water sports enthusiasts.

The railway station in Lindaunis has been put back into operation. Thanks to the hourly train connection between Flensburg and Kiel in both directions, the long diversions via Kappeln or Schleswig is no longer necessary. It is only a seven-minute walk from the station to the marina, which makes travelling to and from the marina and excursions in the surrounding area much easier.

New offers in Lindaunis

This season, the marina is offering attractive introductory discounts for guests: the price is reduced by ten per cent for up to five consecutive overnight stays: the first night costs 20 euros, the second 18 euros, the third 16 euros, the fourth 14 euros and the fifth 12 euros. The offer can be used repeatedly. In addition, a short stay in the harbour for up to three hours is generally free of charge, ideal for a stopover. There are now several attractive options for a pit stop in Lindaunis. Water sports enthusiasts can reach the Obsthof Stubbe café, which is due to open shortly, via the pedestrian bridge. Skippers can relax here with coffee and cake after a trip on the Schlei. Another new addition is the Greek restaurant "Apollonia", which recently opened in the popular excursion restaurant "Zur Schleibrücke".

The Schlei - a paradise for water sports enthusiasts

The Schlei is a popular area for sailors and motor boaters. With a length of around 42 kilometres, it offers a variety of opportunities for day trips and longer tours. The sheltered location of the Schlei makes it an ideal waterway for beginners and families, while experienced skippers appreciate the challenges of the nearby Baltic Sea. There are numerous picturesque towns along the banks, such as Schleswig, Kappeln and Arnis, which are well worth a visit and reflect the rich history of the region.

Jill Grigoleit was born in Hanover in 1985. An early childhood memory is the large collection of YACHT and SURF magazines from her sailing and surfing enthusiast father. However, growing up in a small Swabian village on the Neckar, she had less to do with water sports in her childhood, apart from a few trips to the Baltic Sea with her family. After studying journalism in Bremen and Hanover, she went into television for a few years. Through a few lucky coincidences, she ended up on the water in 2011 and then returned to the written word professionally. For over ten years, she lived with her family on a houseboat in their own harbor south of Hamburg and wrote a book about houseboat building and life with children on the water. Since 2020, she has mainly been writing travel reports and features about people who live and work on and near the water for BOOTE. She has been a permanent member of the Delius Klasing water sports editorial team since January 2024.
