It's not far from your own yacht to a private island. Not even in terms of price. The choice is enormous. From wooded islands off the Canadian coast to tropical islands, everything is available.

A private island is the epitome of paradise, promising carefree holidays (almost) without noisy neighbours. For many people, having their own piece of land surrounded by the sea, lake or river is the pinnacle of happiness. There's no need for a holiday home or villa, because if you're travelling on a yacht, you'll have a place to sleep and a saloon with you. Then it's just a case of dropping anchor and lying on the beach during the day, going for a walk and watching the birds.

Anyone who buys a private island is looking to be close to nature

Farhad Vladi tells us what an island should or shouldn't have and how to get one in a Interview. The founder of Vladi Private Islands has been brokering dreams for 55 years - to celebrities as well as ordinary people. For sale or for rent.

When I sold the 100th private island, I took a look at all the customers, but I couldn't find anything in common. One is a dentist, the other a banker or carpenter. They all have one desire, and that is to be connected with nature - and that has nothing to do with their profession, nothing at all."

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
