Mooring and unmooring is one of the supreme disciplines in sailing. No wonder that even experienced crews often still find their pulse racing. Because once a yacht is at sea, little usually happens. In the harbour, on the other hand, it becomes increasingly crowded and berths increasingly scarce. This can be exacerbated by adverse conditions such as strong winds. Small crews with just two or even one person can quickly reach their limits. Just like charter crews. They find it particularly difficult to handle the unfamiliar boat safely straight away. And yet you don't want to embarrass yourself in front of the many gawping spectators in the midsummer harbour cinema. However, there is no such thing as an ideal harbour manoeuvre. After all, every docking or mooring manoeuvre is a success if your own boat and all the others have remained intact, nobody has been injured and there has been no stress or shouting.

This is where the webinar "Harbour manoeuvres step by step" comes in. It is aimed at both sailing beginners and advanced sailors. It explains the basic procedures for the most common casting off and mooring manoeuvres as well as tricks for getting out of some particularly tricky situations. Manoeuvres with monohulls with a single-blade steering system are covered, but double-blade systems are also dealt with. Manoeuvres with catamarans are not included.

The contents of the webinar series:

How do modern yachts behave?

When casting off and mooring:
