A trained boatbuilder, sailor and successful author published by Delius Klasing Verlag, he is renowned for his books “Knots and Splices” and “Splicing modern rope” as well as through numerous seminars and workshops as Germany’s best-known expert on ropes and splicing. He has been carrying out professional splicing work for yachts, as well as for industry and the military, for over 30 years. As a commercial yachtmaster and owner, he has more than four decades’ sailing experience, including several Atlantic crossings and extreme voyages in small boats.
