Portable inflatable boats make travelling fun: Dismountable inflatable boats can be easily transported in a pannier without a trailer. Before you can get on the water, however, you have to assemble it - in the case of the Zodiac Classic Mark I, this can be done quickly with a few simple steps and pumping.

The PVC inflatable boat is simply rolled out and then the five base plates are inserted, which works better and better with practice. A foot pump and pressure gauge are included for pumping.

In combination, you can always keep an eye on the pressure of the hose when inflating. The boat has four air chambers, each with a recessed valve and secured protective cap. Three chambers are distributed over the carrying tube, and the last one gives the keel its V-shape.

The set-up time with the manufacturer's pump is a good 25 minutes. The shipyard recommends outboard motors with a maximum of 25 hp and 72 kg. We drove the test boat with a 9.9 hp four-stroke outboard motor from Yamaha.

The motorboat package is easy for two people to carry and handle. This is thanks to the thick but soft holding lines on the coaming.
