Ship models, maritime equipment, paintings and full-size boats: the "Classic Forum", which takes place from 18 to 26 January at boot Düsseldorf, is all about ships worth seeing and craftsmanship. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire maritime treasures, obtain advice and take part in interesting lectures and discussions in Hall 14.
A special highlight is the "Private Maritime Auction", which is being held for the 12th time. Model ships, maritime equipment and even real boats are auctioned off here, without brokerage fees. Last year, a Rio motorboat changed hands for a starting price of 120,000 euros. In 2025, two "Riva Super Florida" (both built in 1958) and the "Venice Taxi" (1981) will be shown and auctioned. This year's auction will take place on 25 January from 11 am.
The "Classic Forum" has existed since 2005 and was an annual presentation at boot Düsseldorf. It was organised by the non-profit former "Förderverein Deutsche Museumswerft". This association campaigned for the establishment of a "German Museum Shipyard" in Lübeck, but this met with massive resistance and ultimately could not be realised. Since 2014, the "Classic Forum" has continued to take place at the request of the trade fair management and is now part of boot, as they explain on their website. The trade fair continues to support and promote the "Classic Forum", which makes it an important point of contact at the trade fair.
