The shipyard says of its new model: "The Bavaria SR41 is the start of a motorboat line from Bavaria Yachts. It combines the best of the sporty Bavaria S-Line and the Bavaria R-Line." The boat was designed and constructed in teamwork with Marco Casali from Too Design from Italy and the developers of Bavaria Yachts.
The designers placed particular emphasis on a comfortable cockpit. This can be seen behind the driver's and co-driver's seats with a wet bar to starboard, which is equipped with a washbasin and cover as standard. An 80-litre refrigerator and a ceramic grill are available for an extra charge. Opposite is a seat/lounger combination with table. Another highlight is the same in the rear. Instead of this unit, the owner can also have a huge storage box installed. Behind it is the large bathing platform, which is also available as an optional hydraulic version. The shipyard provides the stern shower and the long bathing ladder, which can also be easily operated from the water, as standard.
The lower deck area can be reached via a curved sliding door and a staircase; the head area has been designed to be extra spacious. The saloon features a seating unit with table and a galley, which is ideal for cooking. Further forward is a cabin with a double berth (1.98 x 2.40 m).
However, luxury cold foam mattresses, which make for perfect comfort, are on the list of accessories. The wet room accessible from the saloon is also on the plus side, as is the one in the centre underfloor cabin. The latter can be accessed from the saloon next to the companionway. In the cabin, the double bed (1.65 x 2 m) is positioned at right angles to the direction of travel and has a headroom of just under 0.90 metres. The entrance area has a headroom of 1.96 metres. Here, flanked by two cupboards, there is a bench seat.
But now back into the saloon, where the driver's cab is located: The driver sits on a 1 1/2-person bench seat. The front part of the bench seat can be folded up and you can lean against it while standing. This gives me a good view through the large windscreen, which is equipped with two windscreen wipers and defroster nozzles. If you want to get up high to drive, i.e. look through the cut-out of the open sunroof, you can fold out a step at the bottom of the seat in the footwell and stand on it.
Our test boat is easy to moor and cast off with the help of a joystick system (extra charge). On the Main, I then use the double single-lever control, let the two Volvo Penta 380 hp diesels run at idle speed and sail through the water at a good 4.5 knots, I can increase the throttle up to a good 1000 rpm before the stern wave becomes powerful. Now I move the levers all the way forwards, and at around 2300 rpm I start to glide smoothly. If you use the trim tabs in this transitional situation, you will notice a significantly lower bow lift. Towards full throttle, you can raise the trim tabs and bring the Bavaria into the right position with the power trim. We reach a maximum of 38.5 knots, the boat glides economically at 26.4 knots, then the noise level also drops to the maximum level of 85 dB/A permitted by BOOTE. The calculated range is around 200 nm plus 15% reserve, which is not too much. Fast manoeuvres can be controlled directly with the smooth steering.
The engines can be accessed via a hatch in the cockpit floor, while a ladder makes it easier to get down. In the engine compartment, you have to keep your head down to get into every corner. The lines are neatly laid, the diesel
The diesel is cleaned by external filters, but their e-alarm is on the accessories list. In terms of safety equipment, the extinguishing system, manual bilge pump and electric bilge pumps are among the plus points.
The new SR41 HT shows the proven Bavaria DNA and offers the crew a spacious and versatile cockpit area. With two cabins and the same number of heads, she also offers plenty of comfort below deck. In terms of driving performance, she offers good performance and top manoeuvrability with the joystick system.
