The Dutch shipyard Oceanco has handed over "Dreamboat" to the owner. Despite its 111 metre length and XL volume, the Øino design was completed in just four years.

After the 111 metre Project 726 were launched in June this year, they have now been officially delivered. "Dreamboat" is already the second yacht of this name that Oceanco has built for the same owner. His first, 90 metre long dreamboat of 2019 had already been drawn by Espen Øino.

With a length of 111 metres and a gross tonnage of 4,550 GT, the new "Dreamboat" is one of the largest Oceanco yachts. It is remarkable how quickly everything went: Only four years passed from the first meeting in November 2021 to delivery in November 2025, which is the shortest development and construction time in the shipyard's history for a project of this size .

Record-breaking efficiency

Very close collaboration between all those involved made it possible: "Full transparency and trust were crucial in order to achieve a short lead time. This allowed the team to make critical decisions early on and stay focussed on the goal from the outset," explains Edske Smit, Project Manager at Oceanco.

The owner was very involved and proactive, with many important design decisions being made within the first six to twelve months, sometimes on the same day. This shortened the build time by about 18 months compared to the typical schedule for a custom yacht of this size.

Dream concept for family and friends

"Dreamboat" brings together the expertise of several design studios. Lateral and Oceanco developed the hull. Espen Øino International is responsible for the exterior design, while Mark Berryman designed the interior.

Like its predecessor, the new "Dreamboat" is designed for living with family and friends. It can accommodate 28 guests and 34 crew members on board. Highlights in the outdoor area include a winter garden, a covered cocktail bar, an open-air cinema and a private owner's terrace. A pool and jacuzzi are available at the stern, and guests can train on the sun deck with a golf simulator.

A tool constantly measures the ecological footprint

The owner of the "Dreamboat" is very interested in sustainability and saw the construction of his yacht as a good opportunity to drive progress in the industry. To this end, Oceanco developed a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tool with the engineering firm Royal Haskoning, which calculates the CO2-footprint of a yacht during construction and operation.

Based on real data and validated by an independent third party, the LCA tool helped to make informed decisions throughout the entire process. Always with the aim of reducing the ecological footprint.

Surfaces made from old eggshells

Sustainable surfaces from Nature Squared were used on board the Oceanco. The company produces interiors based on natural waste materials such as eggshells and coconut shells.

The LCA tool also provides customers with an overview of how design and material decisions can positively influence the energy consumption and environmental impact of a yacht.

Owner and captain are more than satisfied

My relationship with Oceanco started off great and got even stronger. They listened and I could feel that my vision was important to them. It's deeply satisfying to see your ideas come to life.

In addition to the owner, Captain Andre Salt also expressed his enthusiasm: "It was a privilege for the crew to be involved in this project from the very beginning. I am truly grateful to have been part of the construction team for the first Dreamboat and now to have witnessed the evolution of our concept first hand."
