The Italian shipyard in Sanremo is showcasing two distinct directions with four new projects. The Amer 9, Amer 10 and Amer 12 represent a design line featuring composite construction, developed in collaboration with the Milan-based studio AOUMM. Alongside these, the aluminium-hulled Amer 42A is being developed, building on the long-standing collaboration with Antonio Luxardo and his studio, Optima Design.
All four projects use Volvo Penta IPS systems, which have been in use at Amer for over ten years.
The 28-metre-long Amer 9 combines the shipyard’s tried-and-tested 4.0 hull with a redesigned exterior. Large windows characterise its appearance. The cabin layout clearly separates private and communal areas, as well as service and crew zones.
The helm station is divided into two sections – one inside, one outside. Both can be used independently of one another or in conjunction with activities on the main deck. The materials and colours are designed to create a relaxed atmosphere that is just as suitable for larger gatherings, sport and leisure as it is for quiet time and work.
The Amer 10 builds on the concept of the Amer 100, combining the features of a Navetta with those of an Explorer. AOUMM’s architectural approach enables year-round use. Amer Yachts is building a 70-metre yacht
The saloon on the main deck extends the full length of the vessel. The bathing platform has been enlarged and is connected to the upper decks, which have been converted into terraces. The sun deck becomes a multifunctional space surrounding the helm station. The staircase connects all levels and serves as a central architectural feature.
The Amer 12 offers three different layouts: Classic, Charter and Luxury. The Classic version is aimed at the traditional Amer owner, featuring exclusive areas on the main deck and four cabins on the lower deck. The layout and circulation routes for owners, guests and crew are organised in such a way as to ensure privacy and maximum functionality at all times. Like the Amer 10, this model also spans three decks.
The Milan-based design studio AOUMM works in the fields of architecture, urban planning and landscape design. It is led by Luca Astorri, Riccardo Balzarotti, Rossella Locatelli and Matteo Poli. For Amer Yachts, AOUMM brings a research-oriented perspective to the development of the Amer 9, Amer 10 and Amer 12 models.
In addition, AOUMM has developed a kind of materials library for Amer Yachts. This tool is designed to enable customers to make more informed design decisions; each material is assessed in terms of its use, durability, comfort, environmental protection and impact throughout its entire life cycle.
