The bad news first: the list of the world's 200 largest motor yachts, which is published every two years, continues to receive fewer new entries. A total of 20 yachts joined the elite circle, which is three fewer than in 2022 and even ten fewer than four years ago. The good news is that many exciting new watercraft are still being built for private use - especially very large ones. As a result, the entry threshold for the top 200 is getting higher and higher, currently at 75 metres. A value that does not allow large semi-custom formats - which are built faster and in higher numbers - to appear in the ranking. What will change: Four units of the 80-metre Amels 80 will be built.
To be included in the Top 100, yachts must have a length of at least 90 metres. Impressive: this time there are nine newcomers over 100 metres in length, four of which were supplied by Lürssen. But there are new players in the Giga circus, with two from Feadship this time. The Dutch have been particularly busy delivering and are represented with six top 200 new entries - just as many Lürssens were added this year in total, 720 metres in a row. Freire from northern Spain sent "Renaissance" (112 metres) into the ring, while "J7 Explorer" (120 metres) emerged from Indonesian shipyards. Not a new shipyard name, but a debutant in the Giga segment is Abeking & Rasmussen with the 118 metre long "Liva O".
And there is a surprising amount of movement in the market, as can be seen from the various name changes in the 80 and 120 metre league. Some sales are also the result of sanctions against Russian owners. The most spectacular was certainly Mark Zuckerberg's "Launchpad"which the Facebook founder officially bought from Feadship. "Genesis" (80 metres, ex-"Galactica") is another example of a finished yacht whose owner had to change before delivery. "Luminosity" (108 metres) is likely to follow soon, as it has undergone a price reduction of 40 million euros within two years.
With this ranking we take a big step back and show again the photos of all top 100 yachts and selected highlights.
