BOOTE EXCLUSIV rankingThe largest motor yachts in the world - places 1-25

25th Octopus: Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen used the original explorer for over 15 years. When he died, "Octopus" is said to have passed into the hands of Swedish-Swiss businessman Roger Samuelsson in the summer of 2021. The 126.18 metre HDW building was built under Lürssen management and according to the specifications of Espen Øino. "Octopus" amazed in 2003 with a 36 metre long float-in dock, a Nemo lounge and a hangar for two helicopters. Adriana Monk modified the interior only slightly on behalf of the owner, but the legendary recording studio gave way to a bar. Twelve guests can travel the world's oceans on the eight-decker from a charter rate of 2.05 million euros per week and can even venture as far as the Antarctic. Bookings are made through the specially founded company Big Blue Expeditions.

Uske Berndt

Uske Berndt

Editor News & Panorama

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
