In April 2026, the new Classic Superyacht line came into the spotlight in Istanbul. The first two models, the 38XPC and 39MXPC, are based on Numarine's proven long-range platforms. Can Yalman is responsible for the exterior design, the construction is by Umberto Tagliavini and the first interior concepts were developed by Milan-based studio Hot Lab.

The new line arose from the desire to combine timeless yacht aesthetics with a modern explorer concept. At the same time, Numarine is responding to growing customer interest in a durable, understated design language. The term Classic does not stand for nostalgia, but for proportions, clarity and elegance - values that, according to the shipyard, have defined great yachts for generations. Timeless appearance instead of design trends

Designer Can Yalman explains the background: "After years of working on highly optimised, modern explorers, we wanted to return to more timeless principles of shipbuilding." The designer also sensed a longing for a more balanced approach to yacht building.

"A yacht that turns away from excess and instead emphasises harmony, a connection with nature and an almost romantic idea of life at sea," continues Yalman. The Classic Line builds directly on Numarine's Explorer DNA, but adds a new level of lifestyle.

Explorer qualities in a new form

Umberto Tagliavini: "With the new "Classic" superyacht series, we are proud to maintain the same basic principles of Numarine - efficiency, seaworthiness, stability and autonomy." As both models are based on the shipyard's proven long-range platforms, these characteristics are retained - they are merely reinterpreted through their design language.

The yachts are characterised by clear, controlled lines and a pronounced horizontal emphasis. The difference to previous Numarine models lies not in the performance, but in how this is experienced and expressed.

Jacuzzi meets substance

Milan-based studio Hot Lab, part of the Viken Group, has developed the first interior concepts for both models. The 39MXPC offers a stern area with Jacuzzi, which creates a large, open terrace close to the water. This brings a more social, Mediterranean experience to an explorer yacht.

The 38XPC focusses on a more classic layout, inspired by gentleman's yachts. The focus is on elegance, balance and a strong connection to traditional yachting heritage. Both formats thus combine Mediterranean lifestyle elements with the robust explorer substance for which Numarine is known.

Numarine continues to develop

Patrik von Sydow, CEO at Numarine, comments: "The Classic Line represents a natural and strategic evolution. It allows us to broaden our design language and appeal to a wider audience. At the same time, we remain true to the core principles that characterise the brand: Efficiency, performance and ease of use. We are very excited to see how the industry will respond!"

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
