Heesen Yachts has delivered the 55-metre-long “Pa'lante”. Following successful sea trials in the North Sea, the steel-aluminium displacement yacht has left the Netherlands, heading for the Mediterranean. The new owners will board the yacht for the first time there this summer, before “Pa'lante” is unveiled to the public at the Monaco Yacht Show from 23 to 26 September.
For the shipyard in Oss, the 55-metre-long Omega design is one of its most successful platforms. “Pa’lante” – which means ‘forward’ or ‘onwards’ in Spanish – is based on a design by the Dutch designers dating from 2015 and, like “Serena”, “Agnetha” and “Solemates” An interior designed to specifications provided by Luca Dini of Florence.
According to the shipyard, the yacht’s beam of 9.6 metres, draught of 2.7 metres and interior volume of approximately 760 gross tonnes enable it to undertake both ocean crossings and call at smaller Mediterranean ports. The yacht has a top speed of 15.5 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles when travelling at 11 knots. The engine room houses two MTU eight-cylinder engines, each with an output of 1,000 kilowatts.
Power is supplied by two main generators from Zenoro, each rated at 175 kW at 50 hertz, supplemented by an emergency generator from the same manufacturer rated at 80 kW and also operating at 50 hertz. Precise manoeuvring in port is ensured by an electrically driven bow thruster from ZF-Marine with a power output of 125 kW. Roll stability at sea is ensured by a Naiad Dynamics stabilisation system featuring two Type 720 fins, which operates reliably even when the vessel is stationary – i.e. at anchor.
The yacht can accommodate twelve guests in six cabins, with the largest cabin located on the forward main deck. The 13-strong crew are accommodated on the forward lower deck. Although the yacht was designed by the renowned Luca Dini, “Pa’lante” bears no resemblance to any of Heesen’s other 55-metre steel-hulled yachts. The shipyard continues to develop this series in collaboration with each respective owner.
Heesen built the “Pa'lante” on a speculative basis. This means that the shipyard laid the keel without a specific client. It was only during the construction phase that a buyer was found. According to CEO Jeroen van der Meer, this approach significantly reduces delivery times. The shipyard is only able to do this because it has its own design and development departments.
“By continuously refining a tried-and-tested steel platform on the basis of operational data, we are optimising both efficiency and reliability. Such a consistent approach guarantees uncompromising quality whilst significantly reducing lead times,” explains van der Meer.
Heesen Yachts is a Dutch shipyard based in Oss. The company builds motor yachts in both steel and aluminium. The shipyard builds both on a speculative basis and to customer order. Heesen operates its own development and design departments. Its product range comprises motor yachts of various sizes for use worldwide.
