The second Ocean Explorer 85 is an important milestone for the Dutch brand in the further development of the Ocean Explorer series, which is establishing itself as a reliable platform for demanding offshore and long-distance cruising. A look at the Steeler NG65.
The launch follows shortly after the successful transatlantic crossing of the Ocean Explorer 72 "Two Bubbles", which demonstrates the ocean-going capabilities of the series. With "Moss", the Ocean Explorer fleet grows to a total of five yachts, following the recent launch of a second Ocean Explorer 72.
"Moss" was developed in close consultation with her owner, who will steer the yacht himself. The interior was created by designer Kees Marcelis, who brought together functionality, comfort and understated elegance. This combination is ideal for extended stays on board and global sea voyages.
The "Moss" is currently preparing for her sea trials. If everything goes well at Steeler Yachts, the 85 will set off on her first voyage to the Indian Ocean.
With an overall length of 26 metres, a hull length of 23.90 metres, a width of 6.60 metres and a draught of 1.70 metres, "Moss" offers plenty of living space and storage space with a moderate draught for coastal waters.
The yacht was built to CE-A standards and fulfils the requirements of the Maltese 2024 flag regulations (sCYC) with an unrestricted navigation certification. These emphasise the high safety and quality standards that Steeler Yachts applies to the construction of its Ocean Explorer series.
