The SVB branch in Kiel is open again following its modernisation.
SVB has remodelled the Kiel branch on one thousand square metres. A three-day reopening celebration with workshops and brand consulting will take place until 11 April 2026.

Bremen-based watersports outfitter SVB is opening its remodelled Kiel shop in time for the start of the 2026 season. The shop space at Flintbeker Straße 2 was remodelled over several weeks. The shop now presents itself with a new concept in the existing 1,000 square metre space.

SVB took over the site from AWN in May 2023. Since then, the company has continued to develop the shop and has now modernised the specialist shop with extensive renovation work. The new concept focuses on maritime design, light colours and a wooden look. Shelves have been reorganised and the product range revised.

Co-Managing Director Judith Stamann commented on the modernisation:

"We have put a lot of heart and soul into the redesign in recent weeks. Our aim was to create not just a shop, but a boutique with a real shopping experience and great advice."

Three-day programme for the reopening of SVB

The boutique's opening ceremony will run from 9 to 11 April 2026, and SVB has prepared a wide-ranging programme to mark the occasion: Splicing workshops will be offered in the in-house rigging workshop. Each course lasts 90 minutes. Experienced ropemakers teach the craft and explain the company's production techniques.

There will also be representatives from several brands on site who can help with questions - for example from Helly Hansen, Gill, Raymarine, Garmin, Musto and Seatec. The German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS) will also have a stand on site and provide information about its work on the North and Baltic Seas. A food truck will provide visitors with culinary delights.

Focus on product range and advice

The redesign is intended to make it easier to find your way around the shop. According to the company, the product range has also been optimised. The shop has its own rigging shop for cordage work. This service will remain available after the reopening.

SVB started as a one-man business in Bremen in 1989. Today, founder Thomas Stamann runs the company together with his wife Justyna and their children Judith and Andreas. The company employs over 100 people. With around 400,000 regular customers and a product range in 17 languages, SVB is the largest mail order company for sailing and motorboat equipment in Europe.
