Do you prefer a cruise on the European inland waterways? Then the Le Boat owner programme might be of interest to you.

Le Boat is Europe's leading provider of licence-free houseboat holidays with over 900 boats in nine countries and more than 30 bases in Europe and Canada. The company is also part of the Travelopia Group, which also includes Moorings and Sunsail. In contrast to these two brands, which focus on sailing and motor yachts for open waters, Le Boat specialises exclusively in houseboats for inland waters.

The key facts at a glance

  • Boat purchase without ongoing costs for maintenance, insurance or mooring fees.
  • Guaranteed income: 8% of the net purchase price per year, regardless of the actual letting.
  • Flexible personal use: use of your own or a sister boat in nine countries and at 33 bases with a points system for more flexibility.
  • Professional maintenance: regular servicing.
  • Guaranteed buy-back: after eight years, the boat can be bought back at a guaranteed fixed price if desired.
  • Alternative options at the end of the programme: Keep the boat, sell it or extend the contract.

Own use and flexibility

  • 84 booking points per year for the use of your own or a comparable boat.
  • Booking option: Long summer option: two weeks high season use
  • Upgrade option: larger boats available at extra cost, last-minute upgrades free of charge.
  • Discount scheme for Italy: special conditions for these regions.

Costs for the owner

The only costs incurred during the programme relate to your own use of the boat:

  • Travel costs to and from the event.
  • Low operating fee for boat preparation (cleaning, fresh water, bed linen, gas, shore power).
  • Fuel costs according to consumption at a discounted owner's rate.
  • Optional owner's insurance for additional cover during your own use.
  • Additional extras such as bike hire, car transfer or one-way trips can be booked for a fee.
