Owning a boat, houseboat or yacht is a dream come true for many water sports enthusiasts. However, high acquisition costs, ongoing maintenance and mooring fees often make this pleasure a costly affair.
This is precisely where modern owner-occupier programmes come in: They offer an alternative to the traditional purchase by enabling various models of shared ownership and utilisation. Whether as co-owners, through an investment model or with flexible usage rights - these concepts facilitate access and at the same time lower the financial and organisational hurdles.
In this series of articles, we present examples of models from The Moorings, Le Boat, Dream Yacht, WeBoat and Linssen. Each provider has its own approach to making boat and yacht ownership or even a houseboat more affordable and uncomplicated.
While Moorings, Le Boat and Dream Yacht offer tried-and-tested models with fixed income for owners, Linssen focuses on shared use within a boating community. WeBoat, on the other hand, enables yacht ownership in the form of co-ownership with flexible usage times. But which model suits which needs?
