After the entry Following on from the M 48 catamaran production, the French Prestige shipyard is now launching the larger M8 for the coming season. With a boat length of just under 20 metres and a beam of around 9 metres, the vessel is in the top league, which is reflected in the amount of space on offer as well as in the workmanship and equipment. According to the shipyard, the two Volvo Penta D 8 600 engines consume around 20 litres per hour at a cruising speed of 8 knots. The five cabins are luxuriously equipped and offer sleeping space for up to 11 people. So nothing stands in the way of a long-distance trip with the extended family.
In contrast Compared to catamarans, trimarans still form a real niche in the motor yacht market. They have the advantage that the centre main hull offers a comparatively large amount of space - in the case of the new Leen 50 from France, for example, for an additional aft cabin with a real double bed for guests. The owner's cabin, on the other hand, is accommodated in the almost 7 metre wide deckhouse on one level with the saloon, galley and interior helmstand, a level of comfort that monohulls can only offer if they are significantly longer.
Different areas of application is also available for catamarans. Aquila Boats is one of those manufacturers that can fulfil almost every wish: In addition to sports and offshore models (which are intended for deep-sea fishing), the yacht series also includes cruising catamarans. The 42 yacht represents the new entry-level size. Even here, the owner can choose between three different layouts with up to four double cabins below deck.
