Only the nominated catamarans are presented in this size-independent category. Thanks to their hull shape, they offer considerably more space than monohulls and also impress with their efficiency. These five contenders have made it into the nomination for the European Powerboat of the Year 2026.

The Aquila 46 Coupe is a power catamaran that combines sporty performance and yachting comfort. With an overall length of 14.44 metres and a width of 5.46 metres, the catamaran not only offers spacious outdoor areas, but also comfortable interiors with two cabins, each with its own bathroom and separate shower.

The deck design allows for flexible use thanks to large open spaces in the cockpit and on the foredeck. A sliding hardtop structure and panoramic windows provide plenty of light and give a feeling of openness. Thanks to the Aquila hydro-glide foil system (semi-foiling) and double-stepped hulls, a smooth ride with good efficiency is promised.

The draught is between around 1.08 and 1.23 metres, depending on the drive and engine position. The unladen weight of the hull without equipment is 14,500 kg. The fuel tank holds 2,334 litres, plus a fresh water tank with around 440 litres and a waste water tank with 160 litres.

Two Mercury Verado V12 outboard engines with 600 hp each are provided as standard propulsion. Alternatively, a diesel inboard can be selected. The CE certification allows the boat to be used in various waters: Category B (offshore), C (coastal) and D (inland waters). In D, a maximum of 32 people are allowed on board. So there is definitely enough space for friends and family.

Bluegame BGF45

With the BGF45, Bluegame is launching a foil-supported power catamaran that combines efficiency, speed and modern design. The boat measures 14.15 metres in length and 5.12 metres in width and has a draught of around 1.15 metres.

Two Volvo Penta IPS systems serve as propulsion, with which the BGF45 achieves a cruising speed of around 28 knots and top speeds of up to 35 knots are possible. The foil-supported hull concept reduces drag and fuel consumption, which improves the range and environmental footprint. The editorial team has already tested the catamaran and will be publishing online soon. From around 18 knots, the foils are clearly noticeable and the boat gets a so-called lift. However, the boat is not completely out of the water.

The layout is designed for open use and flexibility. Outside, there are generous sunbathing areas, a spacious sun deck and a "beach area" aft, which provides direct access to the water. Below deck, there are two fixed cabins and a third, variable-use space that can be configured as an additional cabin or storage space as required.

The fuel tanks hold 1,400 litres and the fresh water tank 400 litres. This means that the BGF 45 is also well suited for longer day and weekend trips.

  • Length over everything: 14,15 m
  • Width: 5,12 m
  • Weight: 16,000 kg
  • Max. motorisation: 2 x 440 hp

With the Omaya 50, the Omaya Yachts shipyard presents a modern power catamaran that combines generous living space with a clear, contemporary design. The model measures just under 15 metres in length and 8.39 metres in width - dimensions that promise a great sense of space and stable sailing characteristics at sea.

The concept of the Omaya 50 emphasises open areas. The flybridge can accommodate up to twelve people and there is also a spacious aft cockpit with direct access to the bathing platform. The foredeck is also designed as a comfortable lounge, so that the yacht offers plenty of space on all levels. The central saloon is flooded with light and connects the indoor and outdoor areas through large sliding doors.

Below deck, there are four different layout options to choose from. Depending on the owner's wishes, three or four cabins are possible, each with its own bathroom, supplemented by options for crew or additional guests. The furnishings are of a modern, high-quality standard with light-coloured materials and clean lines.

The boat is powered by two inboarders. Either Yanmar 4LV with 320 hp or Yanmar 6LV with 440 hp are installed. The diesel tank holds two times 850 litres. The boat is CE certified for A and twelve people.

Prestige M7

The Prestige M7 expands the French brand's M-Line with a new flagship in the power catamaran segment. At almost 18 metres long and around 7.5 metres wide, the model is at the top end of its class. The aim of the design is to combine modern yacht living with the advantages of a multihull: more space, stability and efficiency.

The exterior design offers numerous lounge areas. The spacious flybridge with steering position, lounge and sunbathing areas is particularly striking. The cockpit at the stern and the side decks are also generously designed. In the main saloon, large panoramic windows and a well thought-out layout create a bright and airy ambience.

Below deck, the Prestige M7 offers several cabins, all of which are designed for comfort and privacy. Depending on the configuration, various layouts are available, giving owners room for individual wishes.

The M7 is powered by two Volvo Penta engines. They deliver 550 hp per unit, enabling a cruising speed of around 17 knots and a maximum speed of 20 knots. Generous fuel and water tanks also support longer journeys, so that the boat is ideally prepared for trips lasting several days or even longer.

Sunreef Ultima 55

With the Ultima 55, Sunreef is launching a new model of its hybrid power catamarans onto the market. The 16.7 metre long multihull combines modern lines with a concept that is designed for performance, efficiency and living comfort in equal measure. The sporty, elegant design is striking, combining clear edges with flowing surfaces and thus conveying the character of a yacht somewhere between a cruiser and a sports boat.

The deck layout is designed for versatility and openness. A spacious beach area opens up at the stern with direct access to the bathing platform, complemented by generous sunbathing and lounge areas. On the foredeck, a large sunbathing area invites you to relax, while the saloon with panoramic windows and open transitions between inside and outside provides plenty of light and a generous feeling of space.

Comfortable cabins with en-suite bathrooms are available below deck, complemented by flexible layout options according to the owner's wishes. High-quality materials, a modern interior and well thought-out details are designed to make your stay on board a pleasant one, even on longer cruises. You can also choose between a three-cabin or a four-cabin version.

Sunreef relies on hybrid technology for the drive: powerful combustion engines are combined with electric components, which enables both sporty driving performance and a significant reduction in fuel consumption and emissions. However, a classic combustion engine version is also available. This is then equipped with two Volvo Penta D6 and IPS 650 engines.

  • Width: 5,60 m
  • Weight: -
