Frauscher and Porsche cement their partnership with the 790 Spectre. The electric powertrain of the Macan Turbo served as the basis for the development of the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre. In much the same way as the Stuttgart-based car manufacturer built its electric models – the Taycan, Macan and Cayenne Electric – the boat was developed around the high-voltage battery, the rear-axle motor and the control electronics of the all-electric Macan Turbo.

The aim is to create a lightweight, agile and efficient sports boat. For the 790 Spectre, Frauscher has designed a completely new hull, which is lighter, shorter and narrower than previous models. The powertrain, comprising a 100-kWh battery and permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PSM) delivering up to 400 kW, has remained largely unchanged.

The 7.97-metre-long runabout also reflects the sports car brand’s design signature. To emphasise this connection, Porsche’s ‘Exclusive Manufaktur’ has extensively customised a concept car based on the Macan Turbo. Through numerous exterior and interior features, the boat and the SUV engage in a design dialogue, thereby uniting the worlds of road and water into a shared design language.

With the 32KS, the Spanish company LASAI – founded in 2021 – demonstrates what electric boating can be like: quiet, efficient and without compromising on comfort. The 9.65-metre-long electric catamaran combines emission-free cruising with a good range and a comfortable living space.

At the heart of the LASAI 32KS lies a sophisticated energy system: two 50-kW pod drives, a battery capacity of 126 kWh and a photovoltaic system with up to 1,300 Wp work together as a well-coordinated integrated system. The result is a range of up to 80 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. The top speed is 20 knots.

Despite its compact dimensions, the LASAI 32KS offers an impressive amount of usable space: according to the shipyard, the 28 square metres of deck space is on a par with that of 40-foot boats. An inside cabin with a double bed and en-suite bathroom allows for overnight stays on board and longer cruises. The boat can accommodate up to 12 people.

Omega / Helios Marine

The Helios Omega 7.2 is not a production boat that has been retrofitted with an electric powertrain – it was developed from the ground up as an electric boat. The Bulgarian company Helios Marine positions the Omega as a ‘Smart Solar Electric Day Cruiser’: an open cruiser for up to eight people that combines solar power, modern battery technology and smart connectivity into a coherent overall concept.

At the heart of the Omega 7.2 is a 50-kW electric motor, powered by a battery with a choice of 18, 36, 54 or 72 kWh capacity. The system is supplemented by integrated solar panels with an output of 1.55 kWp. In addition, the Omega 7.2 features a CCS1 charging port for connection to shore-side charging infrastructure. It has a range of up to 129 nautical miles on battery power alone, and up to 316 nautical miles with solar assistance. The cruising speed is 6 knots, and the top speed is 17 knots.

A key feature of the Omega 7.2 is the Helios Marine Link system: the on-board control module connects the battery, motor, solar roof and all peripheral devices into a single integrated platform. The Omega 7.2 boasts an elegant, contemporary design and a comfortable living area for up to eight people. The focus is on a quiet, vibration-free driving experience – whether in coastal waters, inland waters or on relaxed family outings.

Samar 50

​The Samar 50 combines Mallorcan boatbuilding tradition with electric propulsion. Thanks to solar power and a battery pack, the vessel, which is just under 16 metres long, sails almost silently. With its two 34-kilowatt electric motors, the Samar 50 typically reaches eight knots. Speeds of up to eleven knots are possible, and depending on the propulsion configuration, even 14 to 15 knots.

The roof is fitted with 24 solar panels with a total output of more than five kilowatts. These power the batteries, which have a capacity of 139 kilowatt-hours. For longer journeys or when more energy is required, an 11-kilowatt diesel generator kicks in, which consumes just two litres of fuel per hour.

​The Samar 50 is designed as an open yacht with a large main deck, accommodating twelve day guests plus crew. The helm is well sheltered beneath the sunroof. A mobile swimming platform with a shower makes it easy to jump into the water. Below deck there are two cabins and a shower room. In addition to the airy owner’s cabin in the bow, there is a second cabin with two single beds for children or guests.
