Fun on the water and in the fresh air is the top priority for the Cranchi E30 Endurance. The concept with a central console without superstructure is rarely found on yachts in the ten-metre class. The priority here is not on comfortable living space with weather protection, but on fun in the sun with overnight accommodation. In the range of the traditional Italian shipyard from Piantedo on Lake Como, the yacht is among the entry-level candidates, which start at 26 feet. The shipyard's core business lies in the much larger range, which ends with the 25-metre yacht Settantotto as the flagship. The Cranchi E30 Endurance has undergone a facelift for the 2020 season. The bathing platform, the dashboard and the seating area in the cockpit have been redesigned. The basic version with petrol engine costs 177,310 euros. A diesel engine is also available, but comes at an additional cost of around 26,000 euros.
The large bathing platform with a width of 2.45 metres and a length of 90 centimetres underlines the sporty use. The teak decking is part of the standard equipment. Here, the crew can also prepare themselves comfortably for board sports or dives. It's just a step from the adjacent sun lounger to the refreshing cool water. At the rear, a solid handrail, which can also be used on the bathing platform, is a delight. The all-round railing starts at the stern, providing sufficient support everywhere on board. There is a passageway on the port side, which is secured by a stern door. On the starboard side there is a U-shaped upholstered seating area. The standard teak table can be lowered and can be upholstered to create another sun lounger. The wet bar for catering for the crew is located opposite. A stainless steel sink is part of the standard equipment. A refrigerator or an electric grill are options. The list of accessories also includes shade providers in the form of a bimini or canopy. A double bench seat for the skipper and a co-driver is mounted in front of the seating area. In front of this is the centre console with the helm station and the acrylic glass sliding door that closes off the cabins. In addition to the support for the engine instruments, which are mounted at an easy-to-read angle, the helm station also has a large control panel for switches, plotter and other accessories. There is also a compass. Although the low windscreen makes for a sleek silhouette, it does little to prevent the wind from whistling around your ears when standing. Practical for mooring and casting off manoeuvres: the skipper has direct access to the centre cleat and also to the foredeck via two steps. The crew can access the foredeck on the port side. The cushion for the forward sunbed is an option. The anchor installation including electric winch is also only available for an additional charge.
Below deck, the crew can expect a seating area in the bow, which can be converted into a large double berth with a lowered table and cushions. The locker on the port side by the companionway is an accessory. The washroom with washbasin and tap with shower function is part of the basic equipment, as is the electric toilet. Ventilation is provided by a hatch at the top. There is also an underfloor double berth, which is only suitable for two children due to its dimensions of 1.65 x 1.30 metres.
In terms of engine options, there is a choice between a petrol engine in the form of a Volvo Penta V8-350-CE/G with 258 kW (350 hp) and a Volvo Penta D4 EVC/E/DPI diesel engine with 235 kW (320 hp). The motorisation of the test boat with the Volvo Penta V8-300 V8 with 224 (300 hp) is a special feature. The reason for this is the area, as the boat is moored on Lake Constance. The motorisation was therefore specially adapted to the conditions. This is why the range of the most efficient speed falls exactly within the maximum speed of 40 kilometres per hour permitted here. Thanks to corresponding changes in the engine control unit for the Lake Constance adaptation, the speed range ends at 4900 rpm and not at the actual maximum speed of the engine. This should be borne in mind when looking at the measured values. From a standstill, the gliding speed is 16 knots after nine seconds at 3500 rpm. The top speed of 30.2 knots at 4,900 rpm is reached after 20 seconds. According to factory specifications, around 35 knots should be possible with the 350cc basic engine. With the test boat, a range of up to 129 nautical miles can be calculated with the 326-litre tank after deducting the 15 percent reserve. The shipyard states a speed of 23.2 knots with the standard engine at the same speed of 4,000 rpm with a lower consumption value. This means that a range of 161 nautical miles is possible with the standard engine. The test Cranchi demonstrates its manoeuvrability at high speeds and full circles with a diameter of 2.5 boat lengths. However, cavitation also occurs and the throttle has to be reduced. The hull masters waves with flying colours and there is nothing to complain about in terms of directional stability. Manoeuvring in the harbour also works flawlessly.
Thanks to the high side walls, the all-round railing and grab handles everywhere, safe movement on board is always guaranteed. The safety equipment is also faultless. The high-quality workmanship and assembly of all components are also faultless.

The target group for the Cranchi E30 Endurance is clearly fair-weather users. Comfort and plenty of space on the open deck are the main focus here. Good workmanship, professional installations and high-quality materials are also to be noted in addition to the good handling characteristics.
