The "AHPO" was only completed by Lürssen in 2021 and handed over to the owner. He has now sold the six-decker again via the yacht broker Moran. The price tag was 330 million euros - no yacht has been more expensive recently. Anyone seriously considering a purchase can test "Lady Jorgia" beforehand by charter. This costs "only" 2.6 million for a week, but excludes the use of the helicopter.
Our colleagues from BOOTE EXCLUSIV were on board last year and presented "AHPO":
What does the word paradise mean? Is it spending time with the family, being entertained in luxurious surroundings or being able to relax in complete privacy? On "AHPO" nobody has to choose. With a length of 115 metres, the six-decker surprises with a stylish interior and an innovative room layout that meets the paradoxical need for intimacy and conviviality in equal measure.
The designers Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, who are responsible for the exterior and interior, had a very simple goal when designing the 115-metre Lürssen, which is extremely voluminous at 4902 gross tonnes: perfection. "When the owner or the charter guests approach the tender and see "AHPO" from different angles, they have to be excited and look forward to their time on board," says Carlo Nuvolari. "That's all I want." With her timeless, elegant stern and graceful superstructure that extends far aft, "AHPO" is undoubtedly an eye-catcher.
"Our task was to build a motor yacht for a regular customer who has owned and regularly chartered various yachts for many years and who wanted to replace his 86-metre Lürssen with "AHPO". He demanded first-class design, state-of-the-art technology and maximum travelling comfort in all sea conditions," explains shipyard manager Peter Lürßen. Moran Yacht & Ship supervised the construction on behalf of the owner, a company with which the shipyard has a long-standing business relationship.
The early briefing for the interior design was to harmoniously combine all the elements of nature, with a palette of colourful and refined materials - less opulence, more sophistication. Flowers and plants are also a dominant theme on board, a great passion of the owner's wife.
The 205 square metre wellness area on the lower deck is the perfect starting point for a tour of the six decks of "AHPO". Those who enter through the double doors stand in front of a large bamboo, which is encased in backlit frosted glass and forms an impressive backdrop for the bar and massage room at the rear. In contrast to this Zen atmosphere, a multitude of coloured mosaic tiles adorn the hammam, the day toilet, the whirlpool and the plunge pool in the centre of the room. They run the blue spectrum from dark navy to pale sky blue and everything in between, giving the rooms a strong character.
Further forward, on the port side, there is a cinema with twelve seats, furnished with armchairs and custom-made wallpaper that replicates the mosaic design of the spa area. Just at the end of the corridor is one of the most surprising areas of the yacht: a glass corridor through the engine room. This almost futuristic detail allows the owners and their guests to get to know the powerful MTU engines and technically highly complex rooms in an unusual way - and in passing as they walk through.
The Nuvolari-Lenard team placed particular emphasis on designing flexible spaces: on the main deck, the owner ordered a large conference room aft, which is dominated by a beautiful table with an antique map of Jamaica engraved in bronze and a crystal chandelier hanging above it. Sliding doors allow the room to be partitioned off for more privacy or business meetings. If desired, the doors open to reveal the main salon, an elegant, large room with lounge areas and a self-playing Steinway grand piano. Further forward, another door opens to the dining room. As these three areas are located on the same deck, "AHPO" is not only a place to relax and unwind, but also a functional working environment where business and pleasure can co-exist without overlapping. In the lobby directly in front, the owners ordered a wine rack with walk-in sections that can be set to different temperatures.
The centre of the yacht is dominated by a large staircase that connects all decks. The staircase itself symbolises an olive tree growing into the sky, surrounded by cranes and nature-related decor. Hanging from the ceiling is a crystal sculpture consisting of falling feathers, each of which has been handcrafted. The accent marbles change on each deck, creating a subtle blend of Blu Onyx, Green J'adore and Grey Lilac, with the floor always made of Calacatta Borghini and White Onyx for the petals, complemented by a bronze balustrade.
One floor higher is the owner's deck. The theme here is completely different to the formal main deck below. The lounge has a modern and sociable feel, with a colourful interpretation of the universe in the carpet and an eye-catching wooden lattice pattern running the length of the deck. Three white curved sofas form a central entertainment area aft, while a customised bar and games table ensure that guests of all ages can enjoy themselves.
However, the most striking area is located behind the sliding doors and on the open aft deck. Here, there is a huge, custom-built dining table with seating for 16 in a conservatory that can be opened or closed completely thanks to complex sliding and folding glass doors. This means that this room can be used in any weather and at any time of year. Behind the dining area is the aft deck with two semi-circular sofas, which offer plenty of space to socialise with all the guests after the meal.
Directly above, on the second upper deck known as the skylounge deck, Lürssen installed a swimming pool worthy of its name. With a length of over eight metres and a depth of 1.20 metres, as well as a counter-current system, it was specially designed for swimming and not just splashing around. For those who only want to take a quick dip, there is a whirlpool on the starboard side of the pool, while a large sunbathing lawn opposite attracts sunbathers. A bar and relaxed, low seating make this area a clear favourite for sociable family days. If you want to keep fit, you can do so in the phenomenally equipped gym in front, one of the largest fitness rooms ever realised on a yacht.
The bridge deck also offers an aft deck that can be used flexibly and freely. Whether it's yoga in the morning or a party at midnight - anything is possible. The area is open to the sun, but can be shaded by fabric awnings. The bridge is located at the front of this deck. Thanks to its high position, the captain has an excellent overview when manoeuvring the 18-metre-wide "AHPO". The unique position of the bridge also means that the captain's office and cabin can be located together, far away from the guest areas. It was only thanks to the bridge being moved up one deck that the designers were able to realise an owner's flat spanning two floors.
This consists of a 245 square metre master suite on the owner's deck and a 95 square metre panorama saloon on the skylounge deck above - both areas are connected by a large, private staircase. The design is bright, elegant and colour-reduced, making the rooms a relaxing retreat. The custom-made headboard of the bed is made of fabric and is modelled on the mosaic in the bathrooms. Maple tree leaves and blue birds can also be found here. A breakfast table decorated with mother-of-pearl stands at the front of the room, while two sofas flank the bed. The bathrooms and dressing rooms surprise with ornate mosaic patterns. The combination for the owner is made up of honey-coloured onyx and black Portoro marble, with a mosaic wall in the shower inspired by Klimt paintings.
The owner's wife chose pink as the main colour for the marble in her bathroom and dressing room. The recurring theme is the cherry tree with its elegant blossoms and birds, which can also be found in the mosaics in the shower. The custom-made washbasin is a sophisticated combination of sycamore in various shades of pink and ivory, combined with metal inlays in rose and champagne gold. In both bathrooms there are two freestanding bathtubs, handmade in the colours black and gold for him and rose gold and copper for her.
The lobby of the master stateroom also follows "AHPO's" distinct theme of trees and nature with two glass columns engraved with maple leaves. A red maple tree flanks the entrance hallway and leads up the stairs to the lounge above.
The panorama saloon is located in the area traditionally reserved for the owner's cabin. It is located at the front on the second upper deck and offers a 180-degree view across the bow. "This is the essence of our design," says Carlo Nuvolari. "It's just the right amount of view, because if the windows get any bigger, there's a lack of privacy. And we certainly didn't want that in this area of the master suite." Instead, it is a salon from which to enjoy a fantastic view, with sofas facing forwards to make the most of the line of sight. From the panoramic saloon, there is access to the foredeck and the helipad, which is located halfway between the owner's and skylounge decks.
There are seven guest cabins on board: two on the owner's deck, four on the main deck and one on the lower deck. The two suites on the first upper deck are intended for close family members and have their own colour theme in shades of pink and green. Ginkgo leaves are the main inspiration for the design of these two cabins. The cabins on the main deck are similarly decorated and offer a view from the distinctive semi-circular windows - according to Nuvolari Lenard, a consistent style element of "AHPO" and the owner's previous yacht, "Quattroelle". The guest cabin on the lower deck is opposite the cinema room in the wellness area, an ideal place for an active younger guest who wants to make the most of their days in the beach club and on the water.
The crew area on board, designed for 37 people, is located on the lower deck, is spacious and well thought out - a wish of the owner. The area was designed to offer as much privacy as possible. This includes a large crew mess, a separate lounge and a fitness room. There is also a hospital room on the tank deck. The engine room is powered by two MTU 4000 series engines, which give the 3520-tonne vessel a top speed of 18 knots. The 330 tonnes of diesel in the tanks guarantee a range of 7000 nautical miles at twelve knots. Efficiency and the desire to be as environmentally friendly as possible were at the top of the owners' list of priorities. The yacht is equipped with a state-of-the-art exhaust gas aftertreatment system that reduces nitrogen oxide levels and is equally responsible for reducing noise and vibrations. Each diesel unit is also equipped with a heat exchanger that heats the pool, whirlpool and service water. This prevents heat energy losses and minimises the need for additional heating systems.
A floating paradise that can be chartered for 2.75 million euros per week
To create a yacht like "AHPO", a team of the world's best designers, builders, shipyard workers and suppliers is of the utmost importance, as is an owner with crystal-clear ideas and a great deal of passion. "AHPO" was to be the perfect family yacht, that was the goal from the very beginning, a multi-generational paradise over several decks with a variety of retreat and entertainment options.
Boredom is certainly not an option on board the extraordinary Lürssen novelty. Charter guests have been able to see this for themselves since this summer. For 2.75 million euros per week, the latest Nuvolari-Lenard design is travelling through the western Mediterranean and later through the Caribbean. Will every guest find their paradise here? If not on "AHPO", then where ...
