The shipyard's own Hanse Vertriebs GmbH in Greifswald bids farewell to its long-standing Managing Director Karsten Baas on his retirement.

Founded in September 2003, the Hanse (Deutschland) Vertriebs GmbH & Co. KG (HVG), a wholly owned subsidiary of HanseYachts AG, is completing the generational change. On 31 March 2026, HVG will bid farewell to its long-standing Managing Director Karsten Baas on his retirement. After almost three decades at Hanse, Karsten Baas has played a key role in shaping the development of HanseYachts, according to Germany's largest shipyard. Since joining the company on 1 August 1996, he has made an important contribution to the growth and successful positioning of HanseYachts with his great commitment, comprehensive knowledge of the industry and personal dedication. The team at Hanse (Deutschland) Vertriebs GmbH & Co. KG looks back with great gratitude on their time together, the press release continues.

Sales professional Henry Bleck becomes successor

Henry Bleck, who is moving directly from HanseYachts AG to HVG, will succeed him as Managing Director. Bleck, who has been with Hanse since 2005, has extensive industry and company knowledge and was most recently responsible for the international dealer network. In his new role, he will further develop HVG's sales activities and continue the company's successful course.

Two showrooms for six brands

Founded in 2003, HVG is located in the immediate vicinity of the HanseYachts AG shipyard and the showroom of Hanse (Deutschland) Vertriebs GmbH & Co. KG showroom in Greifswald. In addition, HVG operates another location with a showroom in Bernau am Chiemsee. Both showrooms are open all year round by appointment. As a HanseYachts AG dealer for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, HVG sells all of the company's brands: Hanse, Dehler, Moody, Sealine, Fjord and Ryck. In addition, the company supports a network of selected dealers in the sales area.

Fridtjof Gunkel was born on Helgoland in 1962; he started his sailing career there in the Opti and quickly switched to keelboats. North Sea Week, Cowes Week and Kiel Week were early stops, followed by many years in the Admiral's Cup scene on the cuppers “Container” and “Rubin” World Championships and international regattas in the Starboat, with the mini-maxi “SiSiSi” and various tonner yachts as well as participation in the Whitbread Round the World Race were further formative stations, flanked by extensive cruising trips. Fridtjof Gunkel joined YACHT back in 1985 as part of a traineeship, where he later became Head of the Test & Technology department and then Deputy Editor-in-Chief around 25 years ago. He is also responsible for the regatta and sports section. Fridtjof Gunkel privately sails a performance/cruiser moored on the Baltic coast, his favorite areas are the eastern Swedish archipelago and Brittany.
