The Tykun XII made its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026. The new tender from TYKUN serves as both a dinghy and a base for longer cruises. During the show, the model was not only moored at the jetty but was also put to practical use.

A tender should be capable of more than just ferrying guests from the mother ship to shore. It should be safe to operate, provide living space and be able to cope flexibly with a variety of tasks. With the Tykun XII, the Italian brand is introducing a model designed to strike exactly this balance. The new platform, based on the Tykun X is designed to combine performance, range and versatility. For short day trips as well as for excursions lasting several days.

The boat made its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026. During the show, the vessel – just under 13 metres in length – served as a tender for the Royal Yacht International brokerage and handled transfers around the event. This meant that the boat was not merely an exhibit moored at the jetty, but was actually put to use in day-to-day operations.

Two layouts for the Tykun XII

In Monaco, TYKUN unveiled the High-Bow version. Its higher bow is designed to create more interior space. A spacious sun lounger is also planned for the foredeck. Alongside this is the Low-Bow version, which features a walk-around layout with a greater emphasis on freedom of movement on deck.

Italian design

The Tykun XII was designed by superyacht specialist Tommaso Spadolini. The project was based on a concept developed in collaboration with Benedetta Iovane. Carlo Bertorello was responsible for the hull construction and structural design.

TYKUN is part of Gruppo MED’s Supertender division. The company has extensive experience in building boats for professional and military use. The Tykun XII combines this technical expertise with bespoke fittings.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
