The Sport Tender 35 is the first boat in the new ‘Sport Cruiser 35’ range, which is set to be followed by a Weekender and a Coupé version. With this new series, Nimbus aims to gain a foothold in the upmarket day-cruiser and Weekender segment. The concept is aimed at owners looking for a compact boat without compromising on comfort below deck.
Below the waterline, the Shipyard a completely newly designed two-stage hull. This is manufactured using a vacuum process with a Divinycell foam core. This saves weight and increases rigidity. For propulsion, Nimbus relies on Mercury outboard engines. In addition to the standard V10 with 350 PS (257 kW), there is a variant with 425 PS (313 kW) or two V8 engines, each with 300 PS (221 kW), to choose from. This enables the 10.80-metre-long tender to reach a top speed of around 45 knots. Its cruising speed is between 30 and 36 knots.
The deck design is intended to be multifunctional. At the stern there is a three-section U-shaped bench seat for six people, the backrests of which can be folded down flexibly to transform the area into a sun lounger. The side hull walls in the cockpit can also be electrically extended outwards to form balconies. For trips in changeable weather, shelter is provided by the standard T-top, which features integrated side panels that can be quickly closed when required.
Although the new boat is officially classified as a tender, the living area below deck offers sufficient space for overnight stays. The layout comprises two cabins with a total of five berths: a double bed in the foredeck, two single berths in the mid-cabin, and an additional berth for a child on the sofa. A separate wet room is to be fitted with a toilet, washbasin and shower. On board, a continuous gangway system will ensure that the crew can move between the foredeck and aft deck without any obstacles.
Visually, the Nimbus brings back the old, curved sheer line along the sides of the hull. Not only does this look stylish, but it also ensures high bulwarks and more space below deck. At the helm, the designers have, on this large flagship, 495 Flybridge operated. When it comes to the navigation screens, the owner has a choice: either two 12-inch displays or one large 16-inch screen.
