Welcome to Cannes: The larger motor yachts moor in the Old Port. Those that can’t fit in there are anchored offshore.

Superyacht show in the Old Port. No other in-water boat show attracts more vessels, exhibitors and visitors. The Cannes Yachting Festival kicks off the season of superlatives in the south and is under new management. The curtain rises on the big brands from A to F, such as Ferretti. Part one.

This magical spot on the Côte d’Azur is hosting one of the industry’s best-known and largest trade fairs for the 49th time. The Cannes Yachting Festival runs from 8 to 13 September and once again has a host of superlatives to offer. More than 700 vessels, up to 50 metres in length, are moored in the two harbours, the Vieux Port and Port Canto. 680 exhibitors are expected, along with 56,000 visitors.

Cannes Yachting Festival under new management

With Director Constance Brément at the helm, a new chapter is beginning for the trade fair. Her experience in the sailing sector and the luxury segment is set to strengthen the event’s international reach and emphasise its ‘festival’ character: “We provide the setting to showcase innovations and herald the start of the autumn trade fair season. The festival’s success is based on the quality of what we offer, the commitment of our exhibitors and the knowledgeable visitors from all over the world.”

AzimutIBenetti and the Ferretti Group

Once again, there are some big names amongst the shipyards showcasing their new launches and well-known models. Absolute Yachts is displaying the new 50, 58 and 66. Azimut is presenting the Grande 44M as well as the Seadeck 9, whilst Benetti is showcasing the Oasis 40M and the B.Yond 37M. The Ferretti Group will, of course, also be attending the Cannes Yachting Festival, bringing with it, amongst others, the Pershing GTX90, two Rivas (96’ Argo Super, 56’ Rivale Super) and the new Itama 70.

Uske was born just outside Volkswagen in 1970 and tested various small boats with sails through her boyfriend (now husband 😊) on a quarry pond. Her studies in Kiel took her to the Baltic Sea with boats of all kinds and eventually to a regatta from Hong Kong to Mauritius via the Academic Sailing Club. Her teacher training ended at the Burda School of Journalism in Munich instead of in the classroom and finally at Boote Exclusiv. After a long break and various stories about house building, she returned to Delius Klasing and has been filling the magazine with long stories about large ships ever since. A family-owned H-boat was quickly sold again as the mother realized that sailing with two small children was neither relaxing nor fun.
