This is what the chargers from the British company Aqua superPower look like
In order to drive forward the electrification of recreational shipping, the Italian Assomarina Tourist Harbours Association and the British manufacturer of Aqua superPower chargers work together. The aim of the partnership is to create an infrastructure for electric boats and charging corridors along the entire Italian coast. To achieve this, Aqua superpower will supply and install high-performance chargers at no cost to the marinas.

The Italian Association of Assomarinas has been operating since 1972 to create a community between the marinas of pleasure boating on the Italian coasts. The organisation strengthens the exchange of information and services between operators by supporting them in the implementation of their activities, they have more than 90 affiliated marinas. The partnership with Aqua superPower is intended to help them achieve their sustainability and decarbonisation goals and lay the foundations for the development of a network of e-charging stations in marinas.

Assomarinas shares Aqua superPower's long-term vision of a growing market for electric boats and is pleased to be part of this important transition," says Roberto Perocchio, President of Assomarinas.

Chargers should be provided reliably

"Harbours must be prepared for the new needs of electric boats and provide a reliable network of fast charging stations to make the new electric propulsion technologies more viable and convenient for the benefit of the entire global nautical industry," Perocchio continued.

Aqua superPower's business model is to build, own and operate the network of high-power chargers and then manage these assets via a cloud. According to Alex Bamberg, Managing Director of the company, a fully financed, turnkey solution is offered. This will include everything from upgrading the grid connections to 24/7 customer support as well as hardware and payment systems. The charging stations will then be displayed in the company's own app, similar to the way electric cars are displayed on the road.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
