After the first event in March was fully booked after a short time, a second course was held at the beginning of October with 20 participants. Once again with the support of Yacht insurer Pantaenius. Also taking part were the boat dealer Boats-Polch and the Boat school Onwaterfrom whose ranks the driving instructors came.
Practising and sailing took place on brand new Nimbus and Axopar boats from 25 to 37 feet in length. Nimbus T11, Nimbus W9, Axopar 37, Axopar 29 and an Axopar 25 were available to the participants. The small group size of five people per boat ensured that each trainee spent sufficient time at the helm and was able to perform the manoeuvres in both single and twin-engine boats. A special feature of the Nimbus T 11 was that it had two 300 hp COX diesel outboard enginesThis was a completely new experience for most of the course participants.
The programme primarily focused on harbour and mooring manoeuvres, anchoring in bays, but also sailing at higher speeds in sea areas. In addition to the boat manoeuvres, the main part of the event, the training also included an introduction to electronic navigation with Simrad chart plotters as well as a detailed practical session on life jackets, life rafts and the so-called "safe bags" by Pantaenius safety expert Ole Pietschke. Due to the great success of this year's events, follow-up training sessions are planned for 2025, both in Mallorca and in Cannes on the Côte d'Azur.
