BOOTE is much more than just the name of our magazine. Boats are our programme, our passion. In the current issue, we therefore present an interesting selection of open sports boats, from the Quicksilver Activ 605 to the Viper 225 Toxxic, the Ibiza 711 and the Sea Ray 230 SPXE to the elegant Nimbus T11. You can read what test manager Ralf Marquard and boatbuilding expert Ole Puls have to say about the test candidates or, where applicable, criticise them in our "Open fun makers" test special. And if you want to see the boats for yourself, you can find most of them at the upcoming Düsseldorf boat show.
But it wasn't just the guys from the test department who were busy. At the beginning of November, before the end of the hurricane season, Reiseressort boss Christian Tiedt got on a plane and explored the north of the Bahamas on a charter catamaran. What impact have the storms had recently and what is the state of the infrastructure in the waters around the Abacos? His visually stunning reportage provides the answers.
Bodo Müller's trip report on Friesland, on the other hand, is much more down-to-earth. He travelled our western neighbour by electric boat in complete silence, a completely new experience.
