After a forced break of two years, boot Düsseldorf 2023 opened its doors again. The first two of a total of nine days were a complete success from our point of view. We show the first highlights in our gallery

We have already been able to meet many of our readers and finally catch up again. Several new boats were presented on the first few days, including a new Brabus Shadow 900 Stealth Green Signature Edition and the new Princess F65.

There are also some new products from motor manufacturers, such as this electric outboard from Mercury: the Avator 7.5e has 750 watts of power at the propeller and weighs around 27 kilograms in total. We were able to test drive the motor on the Rhine before the official start of the trade fair on Friday.

The Delius Klasing Flagship Night 2023, at which the "European Powerboat of the Year", "European Yacht of the Year" and the "Seamaster Award" were presented, could take place again. You can find out which motorboats won in which category here. The winning sailors can be seen at the YACHT to see. This year's Seamaster title was won by Ukrainian sailing coach Pavlo Dontsov. His story is told on YACHT TV tells.

Congratulations to all the winners!

boot Düsseldorf runs until 29 January. Come and see us at the boote stand in Hall 3!

Editor Test & Technology

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
