The 37 metre long Oyster flagship boasts the highest level of comfort. For a yacht of this size, "Archelon" has unusually large hull windows and plenty of space: five guest cabins are located aft and another in the bow. The tender or an inflatable whirlpool can be parked in the tub on the foredeck. The Humphreys lines go through the waves at up to 14 knots with 693 square metres of sail area. There is something for everyone in the lazarette: four e-bikes as well as two e-foilers, sailing cats and RC sailing boats.
The 47-metre displacement vessel was delivered by Heesen in the Netherlands in 2015. "Asya" is sailed by an exceptionally well-coordinated crew, who keep the elegant, modern lines by Frank Laupman and the Far Eastern-style interiors designed by Bannenberg & Rowell in top condition. The layout with five cabins for a maximum of twelve guests is ideal for multi-generation charters, with the master suite located on the forward main deck. Fun on the water is guaranteed by the 6.80 metre tender, two jet skis and Seabobs, kayaks as well as wake and SUP boards.
The 80 metres were built by an experienced team at the Turkish Yachtley shipyard to Cristiano Gatto's high interior standards and specifications. "Elements" was built in accordance with SOLAS regulations, but is listed by Ocean Independence for "only" twelve guests on charter, who are spread across twelve cabins, making it very family-friendly. A rectangular Jacuzzi awaits on the bow behind the helipad. The lazarette door becomes a bathing platform, while a folding balcony on the port side extends the 140-square-metre beach club. Starting at 800,000 euros a week, "Elements" speeds through the western Mediterranean at speeds of up to 20 knots.
The strength of this 26.20 metre long GRP semi-planing yacht is its many exterior surfaces, including a 50 square metre aft cockpit. The saloon is on the same level and similarly open, with an integrated helm station and solar panels on the roof, which carry part of the hotel load. Eight guests sleep on the lower deck, while up to eleven people come on board during the day and are catered for by four crew members. Even if the Francesco Guida design doesn't give the impression, it can cruise at 21 knots to the nearest bay - this summer in the eastern Mediterranean.
The 75.50 metre Sam Sorgiovanni design, which Oceanco delivered in 2008 as the "Anastasia" and which followed the "Barbara", is aimed at large families or several families. What they have in common is the two-storey owner's suite with adjoining office and the stepped cinema for eight people, which is unique in this size segment. The saloon surprises with two large TVs behind mirror discs and becomes a disco when fog machines come out of the wall. The sun deck features a jacuzzi, slide and outdoor cinema. Twelve guests face 21 crew members who train them in kitesurfing, wakeboarding, sailing, diving or yoga.
The 49.91 metre aluminium construction was launched in 2021 at Columbus Yachts in Ancona (issue 5/21). The sporty lines were contributed by Luca Dini, who was also responsible for the interior design and included a gym, a cinema in the upper deck lounge and a long outdoor table above it in the deck plan. On board are jet skis and plenty of water toys pulled by a jetski. As it parks sideways in the stern, there is plenty of space on the forward main deck for the master suite. Two VIP cabins and two double cabins are located on the level below. This season, "K2" will set sail for cruises in the western Mediterranean at a top speed of 22 knots.
Launched in 2010, the fourth unit in Feadship's legendary F45 series is a star on the charter market. Her 44.60 metre length features a calm but refined Sinot interior and an extremely family-friendly layout, combining an owner's suite and four double cabins on the main deck. The 14.5-knot "Gladiator" is followed by a 14.60-metre chase boat from Anvera, which will take you to the nearest bay or beach barbecue at 50 knots. The most recent refit took place two years ago and resulted in a new gym next to the beach club and an outdoor cinema on the sundeck, to which the crew added a nine-metre-long slide.
The Turkish owner built the 85 metres in his own shipyard and with chartering in mind. It has everything that families dream of: a private deck, child-friendly cabins and playroom, beach club with pool, cinema, lift and a huge fleet of tenders and toys. The fact that the "Victorious" (issue 3/22) was built almost 15 years ago can only be seen in the steel superstructure and the subsequently added aluminium top deck. There, a real wood fireplace, humidor and wine cabinet await up to twelve guests, whose cabins bear the names of famous Formula 1 racetracks. A drone pilot captures the water sports action on every imaginable board and boat.
The 54.35 metre long steel three-masted schooner was laid down on the US East Coast at the end of the 19th century and, according to the yacht's own website, was owned by a few and cherished by generations. Thanks to Pullman beds, up to eleven people sleep in four cabins made of gleaming mahogany and white panelling. Chef and stews realise meals from barbecue to banquet, served in the covered cockpit. "Shenandoah of Sark" sails at up to twelve family-friendly knots - there are 20 of them.
If you want to travel around Southeast Asia on a vessel typical of the region, you should check in on this 26-metre pinisi. "Sequoia" was built using traditional methods of wooden boat construction, but is equipped with modern technology. Six guests sleep on board in three cabins, which are looked after by a crew of ten. This includes diving instructors, butlers and a tour guide who leads the way to the hotspots of the Indonesian island worlds. The programme includes hikes on volcanic rocks, excursions into the jungle or diving tours with whale sharks or manta rays. Film evenings are held on the top deck, while vintages from Napa Valley and Burgundy are stored in the wine cellar.
This 33-metre charter yacht is one of the classic Benetti models that the Italians refer to in the new Motopanfilo (issue 3/22). "Odyssey III" came out of the refit at the English Pendennis shipyard in 2018. The owner remained true to the interior style of days gone by, but switched to a modern boarding system, a retractable TV for the saloon and had the sundeck aft extended to include a bench seat with canopy. On "Odyssey III", up to eight guests explore the Balearic Islands and use two RIB tenders and recently acquired toys. Fin stabilisers minimise the ship's movements while underway and at anchor.
The Baglietto, which was refurbished last year and built in 2009, measures 54 metres and is the ideal base for a multi-generational holiday. A lift runs from the lower deck to the upper deck, with a classic layout featuring a large suite on the main deck and four double cabins below. The navy blue steel and aluminium design was created according to Francesco Paszkowski's design specifications and boasts an enclosed sun deck. Fitness equipment, hammam, spa with sauna and rooms for massages and beauty treatments are available here. The "Burkut" crew includes a beautician and staff trained in water sports.
Octopus" has been sailing the world's oceans for almost 20 years. The 126 metres, which first changed hands after the death of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, seem anything but out of date. The Øino-Riss, which was built under Lürssen's direction in the HDW halls in Kiel, was one of the first explorers and at the same time its archetype. It already included features such as a hangar for two helicopters, a 36-metre dock for tender and submarine, hybrid propulsion and a storm cabin at the heart of the yacht - the owner's suite is located on the penultimate seventh deck. Adriana Monk has retained some marvellous quirks of the Jonathan Quinn Barnett interior in her reworking: real wood fireplace, windows to the underwater world, guitar collection in the saloon or pizza oven on the top deck. New additions include a table tennis room, a contemporary gym behind the pool and various pieces of furniture and carpets. The new owner has converted the original dining area into a Musashi wine bar and the recording studio, where Paul Allen jammed with world stars, into a beach bar. The entire tender fleet was replaced. An 18.10 metre long power format from Delta Carbon, a limo tender from Vikal (9.34 metres) and five Zodiac RIBs between 4.70 and 8.70 metres now sail into the stern. But the appetite for overhaul is not yet satisfied: the 20-year review is due at the end of 2023, which will be accompanied by a comprehensive refit. Before then, "Octopus" will explore the Antarctic with up to twelve charter guests. Enquiries go to Camper & Nicholsons.
