With the JetBlaster DLX, Yamaha is taking its fun model to a new level - both visually and technically. Our author reveals what the Waverunner is particularly suitable for.

Topics in this article

While the classic JetBlaster Pro stands for fast turns, wheelies and an extra portion of ruckus on the water, the DLX variant brings more equipment, a little more maturity - and above all more control into play. The tried-and-tested TR-1 High Output three-cylinder engine with around 100 hp remains the central drive unit in the DLX model. It delivers immediately responsive power and a pleasingly agile temperament. Especially in combination with the lightweight hull, this ensures very lively handling - ideal for tight bends, jumps or simply for playfully dancing across the water.

Tuned driver cockpit

Ergonomically revised footrests, a seat with a better grip and an overall more harmonised rider cockpit. This makes a particular difference if you ride more actively and switch more often between a standing and sitting position. The JetBlaster DLX feels more grown-up as a result, but clearly remains on the playful side.

Wheelies with the Waverunner

Also included: Yamaha's RiDE system, a small waterproof storage compartment, as well as a clever trim that lowers the rear a little if necessary - perfect for wheelies and fun tricks. The DLX has also gained in appearance: A new colour design, clearer lines and a sporty matt finish clearly set it apart from the standard model. On the water, everything remains the same - in the best sense of the word. The JetBlaster DLX is lively, easy to handle and simply fun. But with that little extra comfort and control that can really make a difference in the long run. There is also a tow hook for water skiers.

Ole Puls was born in Schleswig in 1999. He quickly swapped the football pitch for the Schlei and grew up sailing a wide variety of dinghies and tall ships. From his grandfather's self-built wooden opti and a Europe to a 49er and an X362 Sport, there was a lot to choose from. After leaving school, Puls decided to train as a boat builder at the high-tech shipyard Knierim Yachtbau in Kiel in 2016. He successfully completed his training in 2020 and stayed at the shipyard as a bachelor. In 2022, he decided not only to build boats, but also to test them. Since then, he has been working for Delius Klasing Verlag in the Test & Technology section of BOOTE magazine. The training he received and the eye for detail and quality of workmanship he acquired help him immensely today. Even though he is a regatta sailor with heart and soul, he feels right at home on motorboats and enjoys separating his professional and private lives and yet combining them. Because we all know one thing: there is simply no better place to be than on the water.
